Discover the Ötztal Valley in the saddle with this MTB excursion in the Tyrol.
Alpine views and serious highs – explore the Otzal Valley in the saddle…
Home to some of the most extreme enduro and single track routes in the Tyrolean Alps, when it comes to serious downhill fun, the Otzal Valley is the gold standard. A diverse landscape of endurance trails, leisurely off-roading and mountain touring, this impressive network of bike trails has become the standard bearer for European MTB – now the location for not one, but two international competitions.
Location
There are 12 MTB routes that run through the Otzal Valley – ranging in length and difficulty from the Otzal MTB multi-day (80 km) to intense singletrails (2km). The annual location for the Sölden ‘Bike Opening’ & Single Trail Scavenger Hunt, routes run to altitudes of 3000m through valleys, forest, lakes and towns.
Activity
Meet your guide at the activity base in Sautens for this MTB excursion in the Otzal Valley. Organised according to age and ability, groups can choose from one of three routes that include ‘The Huts Trail’, ‘Amberg Lake Trail’ or the ‘Otzal Valley Trail’ – all intermediate routes suitable for children as young as 10 years old. A sightseeing trip on two wheels, explore some of the area’s lesser known envrions – following your guide across evergreen valleys, freshwater lakes, dense pine forest and quaint alpine villages. A challenging day out that delivers on both scenic views and endurance riding, groups will have a chance to try some of the region’s MTB single trails and altitude routes – navigating winding routes, rocky outcrops, vertical descents and gruelling uphill climbs! During the day, you’ll have the chance to catch your breath and take in the views, stopping for photo opportunities along the way. But, what goes up must come down – for some, racing back down to the activity base is the highlight of the trip – riding out of the saddle and testing the suspension along the way!

There are over 900km of kilometers of signposted mountain bike trails for all ages and skill levels, among them single trails, forestry tracks, country roads and forest paths. Tirol's longest side valley offers 40 officially approved routes – high performance bike rental included.
