Location
At 225km long, the Neretva River starts in Bosnia and Herzegovina then runs through Croatia on its way to the Adriatic Sea. The riverbanks in this area are surrounded by beautiful wild forest and steep dolomite canyon faces. The town of Konjic sits 60km southwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital, Sarajevo.
Activity
Meet your guides for a safety brief and a spot of breakfast before being fitted for all your safety equipment. The team will then drive you to your starting point. As this activity takes place in water it is essential that those taking part know how to swim. The grading for the rapids on this river are Class ll, providing ideal conditions for beginners and families. Once you are out on the waters you will start to navigate rapids with the help of a professional guide. Although powerful, the rapids pass through wide channels with very few open rocks. Expect a bumpy yet exhilarating ride as you pass through transforming waters, paddling into oncoming waves. The feeling of jubilation after conquering each set of rapids, coupled with the excitement of the oncoming sets makes this a truly unique group experience. There is a short break for lunch before setting off again downriver through the forest and onto your endpoint. The team will then drive you back to the town of Konjicfor snack and refreshments.
Conditions
Please note that most rapids on this part on the river are Class ll. Therefore, easy to navigate with large, open channels - suitable for children 5 y/o and over.
