Île-aux-Lièvres is a 13 km-long island in the St Lawrence River, a small, uninhabited natural paradise offering great hiking opportunities from Rivière-du-Loup. It can be reached in just 45 minutes by boat from the Rivière-du-Loup marina, making it ideal for a day trip to discover the exceptional environment of the islands in the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park!

Depending on the tide of the day, you can spend between 3 and 9 hours hiking on Île-aux-Lièvres, on a network of trails totalling 45 km. When you arrive, you will be given a map of the trails so you can find your way around the island on your own. The team will also be able to advise you on the routes to take depending on what you want to discover, whether it is natural lookouts, deserted shores, wildlife, etc. Don't forget to take your camera with you to capture the most beautiful moments of your hike on Île-aux-Lièvres!

Excursion to Île-aux-Lièvres from the Rivière-du-Loup marina: duration varies according to the day's tide.

Course of events

- Reception at the registration desk at the Rivière-du-Loup marina (free parking on site)

- Board the boat for the 45-minute crossing to Île-aux-Lièvres, accompanied by an interpreter-guide

- Arrival on the island where you will be given a map of the island's trails

- Depart on your own to explore the island on foot for between 3 and 9 hours, depending on the day chosen (time spent on the island varies according to the tide)

- Return to the boat at the scheduled time for the return trip to Rivière-du-Loup (approx. 45-minute crossing)

- Disembarkation and end of the activity
