Discover stand up paddle boarding in Montreal, along the Saint Lawrence River!
Discover Montreal differently, by stand up paddle! The city of Montreal sits on an island surrounded on all sides by the Saint Lawrence river, so really there is no better way to get to know this historic city and the Saint Lawrence than by exploring this grand river by paddle board, also known as stand up paddle (SUP) – a real urban-aquatic adventure!
During this stand up paddle discovery course you will start by learning the basics from Paddle Canada certified instructors in a calm river basin. Over the first two hours of the activity your instructors will teach you about the origins of the sport as well as different paddling techniques and how to get comfortable on your stand up paddle board. After a break, you will then be transported to the launch site where you will have the chance to venture into the currents of the Saint Lawrence river for a 2km descent and experience thrilling sensations as you navigate the famous Guy’s wave – a stationary river wave that lets you ride the class 1 and 2 rapids indefinitely! The stand up paddle descent of the Saint Lawrence will finish back at the LaSalle departure point where you can easily head back into the city for your next Montreal adventure!
