Come discover the top of the New Volcano of La Palma with La Palma Outdoor!
Come and discover the summit of the New La Palma Volcano with La Palma Outdoor!
In September 2021, La Palma experienced the birth of a new volcano. After 85 days of eruption, the volcano went dormant, leaving behind the destruction of some homes in the area, but also a new breathtaking landscape. Now you can come and visit this volcano and be amazed by nature's ability to create new landscapes!
At the Tourism office, you will meet your guide and take a bus to the Tacande volcano, the start of the route. This volcano, known by the locals as La Montaña Quemada, is the first historical volcano dating back to 1480. The guide will then lead you along a fairly comfortable 5 km path to the top of this new volcano, the Tajogaite volcano, where you will enjoy wonderful views of the island. During the walk you will also be able to observe the effects of the eruption, discover the fauna and flora of the area as well as all the changes it has undergone.
This is a fairly accessible trail recommended from the age of 12 and up. But remember, it is important to choose suitable footwear. Also, to enjoy a pleasant walk, don't forget sunglasses, a hat and sun cream to protect yourself, as well as plenty of water.
Don't miss this new volcano in La Palma with a local guide!
