Hiking in Arenal Volcano National Park

What a better way to experience the wonders of the Arenal Volcano National Park than hiking on its beautiful mountainsides!

The Arenal Volcano National Park is without a doubt one of Costa Rica's main touristic attractions. Both adventurers and normal tourists come to visit and wonder at the Costa Rican ecosystems.

This amazing national park host several hiking routes that are generally flat and not very strenuous, which makes them perfect for a leisurely and informative hike with one of our professional nature guides.

You'll start your day in nature after being picked you up at your hotel and being driven to the entrance of the Arenal National Park (if your tour is in the morning) or to the 1968 Trail for afternoon tours.

Then you’ll hike on well-groomed and easy trails that can be found on the skirts of the Arenal Volcano and around Lake Arenal Area. This section of the Arenal Volcano has areas that still show the devastation of the 1968 volcanic eruption that completely changed the landscape! If you are interested, you may ask your guide to show you the dried lava flow from a smaller eruption that happened in 1992!

This guided walk provides great opportunities and magnificent views of the impressive Arenal Volcano, the pristine Lake Arenal and the extinct volcano Cerro Chato, so have your camera ready to snap a couple of pictures!
