We travel east along this route. We will first visit a traditional olive mill where we will be shown the traditional method of producing olive oil. We will then have the opportunity to see the modern method of production and, if desired, purchase products made from pure olive oil. Then we'll go to the birthplace of PAPAS ALEXANDER E (1340-1410) and learn about his life from childhood to his rise to the highest office in the Roman Catholic Church.
Starting in the mountains, we will pass through the traditional settlement of KOUROUNES before arriving at the 1635 MONASTERY XERA XYLA via a beautiful dirt road.
Then we'll go to the site of PAPAS's student years and see the ruins of its school infrastructure. Then we'll arrive at the traditional village of KOUNALI, where we'll gather to take photos of the breathtaking scenery. In this village, we will be able to enjoy the famous Cretan drink (raki) with traditional delicacies in a traditional cafe.
As we descend, we will refer to the Milatos cave and learn about its history. Then we arrive in the fishing village of Milatos, where we can swim and relax. We return to our hotel, filled with images and historical elements!!
