Jeep Safari to Lassithi Plateaus from Malia, Crete

Come explore the central part of Crete by jeep and walk on two plateaus reaching an altitude of 1150 meters.

We will learn about local mythology and get more information about Crete and the local way of life.

We will take a scenic route through lush olive groves to the ruins of the Roman aqueduct in Lyttos before making our first stop in the traditional village of Kastamonitsa for coffee at a local traditional coffee shop. You will be able to walk through the narrow streets and learn about the architectural tradition of central Crete.

Following that, we will begin our ascent on dirt roads while enjoying stunning views, passing by the monastery of Agia Anna on our way to the Limnakaro Plateau at an elevation of 1150 meters, where you will also learn about the architecture of "mitata," the stone made refuges of the local shepherds. The view is spectacular and will reward you.

Our next stop is the Cave of ZEUS, where mythology claims the gods' father was born (6 euros entry fee).

Following that, you will dine in one of the best local taverns on an authentic meal typical of traditional Cretan cuisine. Then we'll go through Seli, where the scenery will undoubtedly enchant you, and the photos you take from this point will be the best of your vacation.

Then we descend to Krasi, a traditional village with a 2000-year-old plane tree and an ancient natural water spring. Finally, we return to the hotel full of memories after taking a beautiful route with a spectacular view.
