The Mrežnica River offers moderate rapids, perfect for thrill-seekers, but also for families and groups of beginners. In fact, this canoraft descent of the Mrežnica is accessible from the age of 7, making it the perfect activity for family fun for your next holiday in Croatia!

During your rafting trip near the Plitvice lakes, you'll enjoy a pleasant setting: lush forests of beech and oak trees, waterfalls, cliffs and narrow gorges will pass before your eyes. You'll even have the chance to admire spectacular waterfalls up to 8 metres high.

Along the way, you can jump off cliffs, climb waterfalls and swim in the Mrežnica. If you prefer not to jump, don't worry, you can walk around these obstacles. You'll also have time to rest and recharge your batteries during the picnic break!

Practical information

Looking for your next rafting excursion near Plitvice Lakes? Try canorafting down the Mrežnica River and explore lush green landscapes!

  • Maximum number of participants: 16.
  • Boat : Two-person inflatable canoraft.
  • River section : Upper section of the river, known as the Mrežnica Canyon.
  • Class II to III (moderate) rapids.
Course of events

Please allow for 4 hours in total for this activity, including 2 to 3 hours of rafting.

  • Arrive at the base in Zečev Varoš
  • Get all the necessary equipment for rafting
  • Safety and paddling techniques briefing
  • Embark in your canoraft
  • Enjoy your 2 to 3 hour canoraft excursion down the Mrežnica River with a break for a picnic lunch (excluded from the price)
  • At the end of the tour, a shuttle service will take you back to the base camp
Activity requirements

All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

A minimum number of 2 participants is required to run this activity.

Special terms

People who suffer from severe back problems cannot take part in the excursion.

In case of high water levels, traditional rafting boats will be used for the excursion.

You can reach the meeting point by car or bus (the nearest bus stop is in Slunj). If you travel by bus, your instructor can pick you up in Slunj (not included in the price).

Your instructor can also pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation for additional cost. For all pick-up requests, please contact your instructor once your booking request has been confirmed.

The activity was really good! The guide was really kind and you feel safe with the clear instruction he is giving. The welcome is relaxed with a cup of coffee or anything else you like to drink. It is a short drive to the river and a short walk down with the kayak, when you are in the water you immediately start with a pretty big waterfall. And the second one is already the biggest one where you have to jump. Every waterfall is really nice ending in calm water where you wait for the rest of the group and then you continue to the next one.
