Sysmä is a town situated in the Päijänne Tavastia region of Southern Finland, close to the city of Lahti. This area is renowned for its natural beauty, with numerous forests and lakes, including Lake Päijänne, one of the largest lakes in Finland. During the winter months, this area is transformed into a white wonderland beneath a blanket of snow!

The adventure begins at the starting point in Sysmä, where you will be greeted by the experienced guide. You will meet the adorable Icelandic horses and go through a safety briefing. Then, you’ll get set up in the 100-year-old traditional wooden sled, lined with wollen pelts (maximum of 4 participants per sled). Following the guide, the horses will pull the sled into the surrounding forest.

You’ll enjoy a peaceful ride through the remote landscape, taking in the glistening trees and forest trails. Along the way, you’ll stop for a break to admire this fairytale environment! The Päijänne Tavastia region is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna that you may encounter! On the 30-minute tour, you'll enjoy some hot tea and coffee. On the 1-hour tour, delicious sausages and hot drinks will be served around a campfire. The exciting sled ride will end back at the starting point in Sysmä.
