Levi is located in the north of Finland, within the magical Lapland region. Due to its proximity to the Arctic Circle, Levi experiences typical Arctic conditions during the winter months, with beautiful snowy landscapes. Like most other Northern locations, it is also one of the best places in the world for witnessing the stunning Northern Lights!
This tour begins by meeting your guide at the starting point in Levi (pick-up is available from listed locations, please specify when booking). The guide will go through a safety briefing and driving lesson. Each snowmobile will be shared between two (one person driving and one passenger with the chance to switch during the tour). Children will sit in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile, so they can still enjoy the mesmerising views. After dressing in warm Arctic clothing, the hunt begins!
This tour will take you deeper into the wonderful winter landscape of Lappish nature to chase the Aurora Borealis! The guide will lead you on a different kind of snowmobile adventure in the unlit nature where only the moonlight, stars, and snowmobile lights will show you the way. In the middle of the wilderness, the chances of witnessing the Northern Lights are higher. You will be surrounded by forests and lakes while you drive the snowmobile through the snow-covered landscapes.
Stopping to savour the serenity of nature and to take amazing photos, your guide will share fascinating stories about life in this remote Arctic location, as well as the history and myths surrounding the Northern Lights. After switching drivers, you will snowmobile back to the base camp before returning to your pick-up point in Levi.

Practical information
For this tour, each snowmobile is shared between two, with one driver and one passenger and the opportunity to switch.
For safety reasons, children under 13 years old will sit in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile. It is recommended that an adult also sits in the sled with smaller children.

Snowmobile drivers must hold a valid driver's license (category B). Please bring the original document with you on the day of the activity.
Participants must be at least 140cm / 4'6" to sit on the sled as a passenger. Children who meet this height requirement can sit as a passenger when paying the adult price.
Please be advised that since the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, their presence can never be guaranteed.

Please be ready for collection 60 minutes prior to the activity start time. The pick-up is not always at the reception of the hotel and may require you to walk a few minutes from the hotel. In addition, pick-up times may vary. Please check your emails after booking for further instructions.
In order to drive a snowmobile, a valid driver’s license (class B) is required. A provisional license or a picture of the driving license won’t be accepted. The driving license must be recognizable in English. If you do not bring your driving license you won’t be able to drive a snowmobile and no refund can be offered.
The snowmobile driver is responsible for any damages to the vehicle, with a maximum personal self-liability of 950€ per person per snowmobile in case of an accident. Additional insurance can be purchased on site for 15€, reducing self-liability to 150€. This insurance must be purchased before the start of the tour.
