Your guide will drive around 20km outside of Rovaniemi to find the perfect spot for the activities. You will strap on your snowshoes and set off into the beautiful taiga forests. As you snowshoe through the quiet snowy landscapes, you will already feel the harmony of the Lapland nature that surrounds you. The guide will lead you to an immense frozen lake, where you will practice ice fishing. They will use tools to drill a hole in the ice and set you up with a fishing rod and equipment. The guide will explain the basics of ice fishing and hopefully one will take the bait!

While you fish, the guide will chop some wood and build a roaring campfire. Typical Finnish campfire snacks and hot drinks will be waiting for you around the open fire. If you manage to catch a fish, the guide will also prepare and cook it for you. As you enjoy your meal and take in the peaceful surroundings, the guide will share stories about Lapland and Arctic life in general. This excursion is a great opportunity to learn how to survive in this icy environment and receive a truly authentic Arctic experience. After the meal, you will snowshoe back to the starting point before returning to Rovaniemi.
