Ice fishing is a popular winter activity in the Ylläs region of Finnish Lapland, where frozen lakes and rivers provide ideal conditions for this traditional pastime. Your adventure begins at one of the listed pick-up locations or you can meet at the Hotel Ylläsrinne, please specify when booking. After the transfer, you and your group (a maximum of 20 participants) will put on your winter gear, including thermal overalls, boots, wool socks, a scarf, a hat, and gloves. Then, the fun starts! You'll depart for one of the best fishing locations in Ylläs.
Upon arrival, your guide will provide a safety briefing as well as an introduction to ice fishing techniques. They will also help you drill the hole through the ice. Now it's time to cast your line and cross your fingers, luck may be on your side and you could catch fish such as Arctic char, grayling, perch, pike, trout, etc. While enjoying the tranquillity of nature, you will also warm up by a campfire and be treated to a hot drink.
