The spot
Located by the Atlantic Ocean, the spot of Cavaliers is THE spot in Anglet with famous waves all around the world. It owes its international reputation to all the professional competitions organized there. Anglet offers a 4 kilometer sand beach near Biarritz and the mountains of the Basque Country.
Closeby is the beach of la Barre where there are less waves which makes it a good backup spot in case of heavy swell. These two beaches ensure optimum surfing conditions. The beach of Cavaliers spreads out over 1 kilometer of sand, includes a 15-meter learning area for beginners.

The surfing conditions
The water temperature is quite pleasant: 19°C in springtime and 23°C in summertime. On the spot of Cavaliers, the waves are powerful unlike on the beach of la Barre where they are smaller and smoothed. Most of the time, the wind blows in the evening.

Equipment and infrastructures
The equipment provided comes from a brand called Softech, it is fully renewed every 2 years. The boards are soft (coating and soft fins) for a safe practice. École Surf 64 also offers a wide choice of boards, ranging from de 5.6 feet to 9 feet.
There are showers and changing rooms at the center. Also, only 50 meters away from the school in Anglet, you will find some restaurants, bars, a skatepark, a skating rink, a soccer field, a basketball course...
