The Argensou canyon near Val-de-Sos is renowned as the perfect place for a family introduction to canyoning in the Ariège region, with a course featuring some of the sport's most challenging obstacles: natural slides, jumps in pools that are avoidable and abseils, the highest of which is 12 meters high. With its low water level, it's the perfect place for beginners to discover canyoning in complete safety.

With a qualified instructor to accompany you on your descent of the Argensou canyon, you will learn the basic abseiling techniques, equipped with all the necessary gear: helmet, harness, full neoprene suit, etc. The small number of participants (9 maximum) means you can make progress without rushing, and the instructor will always be ready to listen, so your canyoning experience in the Argensou canyon goes off without a hitch!

Less than an hour and a half's drive from Toulouse and 40 minutes from Foix, the Argensou canyon is the perfect place for a family canyoning experience in Ariège!

Practical information

Canyoning descent of approximately 2 hours

Approach walk: 20 minutes

Return walk: 5 minutes

All the jumps are avoidable (you can abseil down them or simply walk around them)

Course of events

- Welcome to the park

- Distribution of equipment and briefing on the activity

- Drive in your own vehicle to the starting point

- 20 minutes approach walk along a shaded path

- Tune up your equipment and begin the descent of the Argensou canyon for around 2 hours

- 5 minutes return walk, then end of activity and return of equipment

Activity requirements

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the activity.

Knowing how to swim is compulsory for this activity.

A minimum number of 5 participants is required for this activity to take place.

Minors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
