The Ermite cave at Ussat les Bains is an ideal place to discover caving in the Ariège region, even with 5 years old children. Perfectly horizontal, with only a few narrow passages through which you have to crawl to move forward, the Ermite cave offers the perfect introduction to caving and your first steps underground.
With its concretion-filled chambers, stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, columns, fistulas and gours, the whole family will be in for a treat on this caving discovery trip to the Ermite cave! Located south of Foix, near Tarascon-sur-Ariège, this active visit of the Ermite cave is led by a qualified instructor, equipped with a caving overall, helmet and headlamp.
With a temperature of around 15°C, the Ermite cave offers a pleasant environment in which to take refuge during the summer months - a very good reason to try your hand at caving!

Practical information
- Welcome at the meeting point
- Distribution of equipment and briefing on the activity
- Approach walk of 10 minutes
- Start of the adventure in the Ermite cave for about 2.5 hours
- 10 minutes return walk
- End of activity and return of equipment
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the activity.
Minors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
People suffering from claustrophobia are not advised to participate in this activity.
A minimum number of 4 participants is required for this activity to take place.
