Descend into the Sakanie chasm for a 5-hour caving adventure near Foix and Tarascon-sur-Ariège!
The Sakanie chasm is a real labyrinth, with almost 12 entrances leading to superb underground chambers and galleries filled with concretions (stalactites, stalagmites and draperies), reaching a depth of 80 meters. This will be the time to learn the specific techniques of rope caving, including 3 shafts (17, 8 and 9 meters respectively) that you will have to abseil down. You will then have to climb a series of ladders to return to the surface once the activity is over.
If you are a caving enthusiast, the Sakanie chasm will offer you an incredible experience near the town of Foix! Its underground passage is located in a limestone foothill above Tarascon-sur-Ariège, at the mouth of the Vicdessos valley, a stone's throw from the Spanish border.
