Canyons are the new terrain for sensational adventures, alternating between walking, swimming, sliding down natural slides, jumping and abseiling. Your canyoning experience in the Gorges de Galamus will follow the course of a river, passing between gorges and narrow ravines.

The Gorges de Galamus canyon is located in the commune of Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, less than 1 hour from Perpignan in the Pyrénées-Orientales. You'll discover an unspoilt environment and spectacular scenery in these limestone gorges, where water has shaped the rocks. Your canyoning descent in the Gorges de Galamus will undoubtedly take place in one of the most exceptional settings in the département.

You'll be able to see the River Agly as well as the Hermitage of St-Antoine de Galamus, located below on the rock face and in a natural cave, all set in the foothills of the Corbières.

Characteristics of the canyon :

Approach walk: 15 minutes

Total descent of the canyon: 2h30

Return walk: 15 minutes

Jumps: 1 to 7m

Natural slides: 3 to 6m

Abseil: Optional

Course of events

- Meeting with the instructor at the indicated meeting point

- Participants are kitted out and briefed on the activity and safety instructions for the descent.

- 15-minute approach walk to the start of the canyon

- Start of the descent of the Gorges de Galamus canyon lasting around 2h30

- 15-minute return walk to the starting point

- De-equipping and end of the activity

It is necessary to be in good physical condition and know how to swim for this activity.
