Climb ephemeral ice structures with a professional guide who will teach you all the techniques to apprehend this fabulous activity during a whole day initiation.

Do you want to discover the mountain differently this winter? Then take your ice peaks and crampons to join your certified guide who will give you all the keys to become an ice climbing expert!

Discover the activity safely with Jody who will create exercises and workshops to train you to the various techniques of climbing icefalls. Roping (rope placed on top), use of technical ice peaks and crampons bases will have no secrets for you, all this on ice structures adapted to your progress.

Whatever your level, even if you have never practiced, it is the whole point of this initiation, learn or review the basics and get familiar with the gear (crampons, ice peaks, belaying, rope manipulation) in the ice environment taking into account the specificities of the icefall structure.

You will evolve on icefall sites suitable for beginners in Fressière, Fournel, La Grave...

Practical information

You will leave for a whole day icefall climbing initiation from 9 am to 5 pm.

Course of events

- Meet up at 9am in Argentiere la Bessée to drive up to the ice climbing site
- Short approach walk
- Discovery of technical and security gear and briefing on safety rules
- Practice: workshops, excercises
- Picnic in the mountains
- Resuming activity after a reminder of what you saw in the morning
- Back in Argentiere around 5pm
