If you're looking for an introduction to whitewater sports near Nice, there's nothing better than canoeing and kayaking on the Var near Nice! Halfway between the Mediterranean and the Alps, you'll have the chance to climb aboard a canoe or kayak in Villars-sur-Var for this 10km descent in total autonomy. For around 2 hours, you'll be free to move along the river at your own pace, taking in some superb scenery thanks to canoe and kayak hire on the Var!

After a welcome at the Azur Canoë Kayak Rafting base, you'll be given your canoeing equipment (lifejackets, helmets and paddles) and driven 10 km upstream. From there, you can paddle at your own pace down the river to the base, where your car will be waiting.

In the Var, there is one small rapid after another, without being too difficult and leaving you flat. You'll always be on the move and enjoy a thrilling, sporty descent! Don't forget to take a refreshing dip in the countryside on your way down! You can also bring your own picnic to the base, where the team will keep it cool for a lunch on the beach before or after your canoe trip down the Var near Nice.

Course of events

- Meet at the Azur Canoë Kayak Rafting centre

- Equipping participants and departure for the rafting trip

- A 10-kilometre trip down the Var in a canoe or kayak in complete autonomy.

- End of the canoe/kayak excursion

- De-equipping and return by minibus to the starting point

Activity requirements

Knowing how to swim is compulsory for this activity.

A written parental authorisation is required for minors to take part in this activity.
