The spot
Mikri Vigla in Naxos is known for its long sandy beach and the favourable wind conditions for kitesurfing. The dominant winds are side-onshore, so in the rare case where something goes wrong, you will be carried back to the beach. The wind speed is increased thanks to the Venturi effect created between Parthena island and the nearby mountains.

The lessons
"Naxos Kite Life" and the instructor, Petros, has created customized tuition for beginners. All lessons are done in private so you can get the most out of your lesson till you become a confident rider. It is proposed to start your lesson with a 2-hour lesson per day, as kitesurfing is physically demanding, and fatigue slows down progression.

All kitesurfing courses are done in private mode, or semi-private if you are coming with your friends of no more than 2 people per instructor. With the 2 hours starter lesson, you will practice on the beach with a beginner's kite while learning the basics of kitesurfing.

On the next steps, you can practice your water launch, turning, going upwind, going downwind, jibes and many more. At the end of 6-8 hours and upon completion of the IKO level 3 programme you will get your kitesurfing IKO card, widely recognised all over the world!
