PADI Open Water Diving Course in Porto Rafti, Athens

The first scuba diver certification is Open Water Diver, which certifies that the diver holding it has all the necessary qualifications to dive using a scuba. After your training, you will be able to dive everywhere in the world, rent diving equipment or continue your training. All courses can be conducted in various ways and the course is quite flexible, matching your own schedule and free time.

You will have two options for your certificate. The first one is to follow the scuba diver course which will take you to a maximum depth of 12 meters in 3 days. The alternative is to follow an intensive theory and diving practice to go down to 18 meters and be an Open Water certified diver. Choose the course you like from the options below and go on your first extreme diving experience!

After attending this course, you will obtain a certification card from one of the biggest diving associations in the world, as well as a diploma.

Theory
The course includes five theory lessons which can be completed by studying on your own from a book or a DVD (supplied by your instructors) or via the Internet. You can also arrange to have your lessons in 3 or 5 sessions at the school with an instructor.

Afterward, you will complete a knowledge quiz and talk to your instructor about any questions or things you have misunderstood and in the end, you will take a final test. All this can be done before or even in-between practice lessons, which will be at least nine.

Where will you be diving?

The first lessons will be conducted in the Porto Rafti shop where there is a heated pool as well for the winter months. During the summer, you will take your first steps in the pool or in shallow waters in the sea.

Once you've finished with the first training and have learned how to use the equipment, you will go to one of the 20 different dive sites near Porto Rafti. You will find many walls, reefs, caves, wrecks, crystal clear waters and beautiful seascapes full of marine life, corals and countless colors beyond any imagination.
