Immerse yourself into the Big Island’s incredible atmosphere, culture, and history during this dinner boat cruise from Kailua Kona to Kealakekua Bay!
Kick back, relax, and immerse yourself into the island of Hawaii's incredible atmosphere, culture, and history during this dinner boat cruise from Kailua Kona to Kealakekua Bay!
Throughout this delightful evening boat cruise aboard the Kanoa II catamaran, you will enjoy a delicious 3 course dinner and complimentary cocktail (with more drinks available to purchase at the bar) alongside breathtaking views of the setting sun and the Big Island’s stunning coastline bathed in golden light. As you are being served dinner, you will be serenaded with the soft strumming of live, island style music and a local historian will be on board to point out over 50 points of interest and historic sites along the Kona coast.
The dinner boat cruise will make its way from Kailua Kona to the iconic Kealakekua Bay. Kealakekua Bay was once the location of the thriving fishing village Ka’awaloa, and a seat of power in the Hawaii of old. These days, this pristine bay is known as a popular snorkelling spot and perhaps most famously as ‘Cook’s Bay’, where the British explorer James Cook first landed in Hawaii and was eventually killed after instigating a skirmish with the local Hawaiians. A 27 foot obelisk marks the supposed location of Captain Cook’s death, and the earth on which it stands is technically British soil! As the onboard historian regales you with such tales and more, you’ll be able to turn back time and imagine yourself in a Hawaii of long ago, where kings reigned and lucky (or not so lucky) explorers discovered paradise!
