Your adventure, snorkelling in Kona on the Island of Hawaii, begins at the meeting point, where you and your group (a maximum of 20 snorkelers) will be greeted by your professional and friendly instructor and Captain. After an initial welcome, including a safety and itinerary briefing, you'll receive your snorkelling equipment (mask, fins, and snorkel). Then, the fun truly starts! You'll board a boat and cruise to Keauhou Bay, where the mantas gather to feed, dance, and play.
Weighing up to 453 kg (1,000 lbs) with a wingspan of 5 metres (16 feet) these incredible creatures feed on phytoplankton, which are attracted to light. This is where the illuminated flotation device comes in. Upon your arrival in Keauhou Bay (South Kona), your instructor will give an introduction on how to snorkel with the mantas safely as well as how to hold onto the flotation device, which beams light into the water's surface, attracting both the phytoplankton and manta rays alike!
Next, the excursion, snorkelling in Kona on the Island of Hawaii, continues as you hop into the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean at night with the flotation device lighting up the water below.
