Climb aboard a traditional boat and set off in search of whales on Iceland's north coast!
Just a 30-minute drive from Akureyri, Iceland's 4th most populous city, lies the village of Árskógssandur, the starting point for your boat trip.
This fishing village lies along the coast of the Eyjafjörður fjord, one of Iceland's largest fjords.
On arrival you will be met by the North Sailing team for your whale watching trip to Árskógssandur. They will explain how the activity works and the safety instructions to be followed. The crew will give you a hot drink and a cinnamon bun to enjoy on deck. Wearing warm wetsuits, you will take your place in a traditional Icelandic boat and sail away from the coast.
You'll sail off in search of whales, while enjoying the comfort and facilities of your boat.
On your whale watching trip to Árskógssandur, you'll get up close and personal with these marine mammals in their natural habitat as your guides tell stories about the fjord and Iceland in general.
