Sólheimajökull is Iceland's 4th largest glacier. Discover it up close and admire the magnificent scenery it shelters!

The eternal ice of Iceland's glaciers is the perfect place to experience the incredible thrill of ice climbing...

The adventure begins at the Sólheimajökull car park, where your guide will provide you with all the equipment you need. Then a 30-minute walk will take you to the ice, where your guide will show you how to put on crampons so that you can walk and climb on the ice in complete safety.

You will be secured using a harness, rope and helmet. You'll also need to use an ice axe or pickaxe. If you've climbed before, you'll love ice climbing! If you're a beginner, don't worry, this activity is also suitable for you.

Ice climbing is an ideal way to explore a glacier that was formed over 500 years ago! Sólheimajökull comes from the larger Mýrdalsjökull glacier and is located next to the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano, surrounded by black sand and magnificent mountains...

You'll come across numerous crevasses, deep cracks in the surface of the glacier, and vertical shafts in the ice... Don't forget to capture it all with your camera!
