Your instructor will introduce you to the techniques of canyoning on the Saut du Gendarme canyon, in complete safety. After a short walk, you will be immersed in the invigorating coolness of the rainforest. A briefing of the crossing techniques and safety instructions will precede the descent of the Saut du Gendarme canyon, before the tropical adventure in the company of your instructor for 2.5 to 3.5 hours of descent begins! Your exploits will be photographed and filmed, then made available to you at the end of the adventure where a glass of friendship will close your outing in the Saut du Gendarme canyon, just a stone's throw from Fort-de-France.

Practical information

The Saut du Gendarme canyon is located to the north of the Pitons du Carbet massif. It is a succession of abseils, natural pools, river walks and jumps.

Description of the canyon :

- 15-minute approach walk

- Duration of descent: 2.5 to 3.5 hours

- 5-minute return walk

- Number of abseils: 7

- Maximum height: 15 metres

Course of events

- Meet the instructor at the meeting point

- Participants are equipped with the necessary gear

- 15-minute approach walk to the canyon

- Start of the descent of the Saut du Gendarme canyon for 2.5 to 3.5 hours

- 5-minute walk back to the meeting point

- De-equipping and end of the activity

Activity requirements

To participate in this activity you will have to be a minimum sporty.

hildren can participate from the age of 10 and must be at least 130 cm.

Special terms

Depending on the size of groups (from 2 to 12 people), the departure for the afternoon will be at 2 or 3 pm.

Canyoning with TropiCanyon is open all year depending on weather conditions.

A minimum of 5 participants is required to validate the trip.
