If you are interested in riding in Le Morne, but you have never ridden before and would prefer to see the basics before taking the plunge, this horseback riding discovery course at the Haras du Morne is the right activity for you! Located at the foot of the Morne Brabant, a 555 meters high mountain classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the stud farm will allow you to enjoy a horseback riding lesson in front of an incredible landscape.
In small groups of 5 riders maximum, you will learn the basics of horseback riding in an arena, a secure outdoor space within the stud farm. You will be on the back of your horse for 40 minutes and will learn how to make it move forward, stop, as well as go to the right and to the left first at the walk, then at the trot. The most comfortable riders will even be able to do a canter if they wish! You will be constantly accompanied by the instructor who will make sure that your learning process is safe.
This intensive horseback riding discovery course is ideal for absolute beginners who want to see the basics of this sport before going for a ride on the beach of Le Morne, so if you are motivated, do not hesitate to participate!

- Lesson in the haras's arena: learning the different gaits (walking at a walk with the horse held in the longe by the instructor, switching to a trot once the walk is well acquired, then trying a gallop if the rider is comfortable) and the direction of the horse (making it move forward, stop, go to the right and left)
- End of the lesson and removal of equipment
- Know the basics of horseback riding
