Embark on a guided sea kayaking excursion along Kristiansand’s picturesque coastline in Norway. Welcoming adventurers from ages 12 and up!
Kristiansand is the fifth-largest city in Norway, situated along the southern coast of the country. Due to its location on the sea, Kristiansand is a popular fishing destination and is also known for its beautiful beaches and nearby islands.
The adventure begins at the Guest Harbour in Kristiansand, located close to the city centre and only a short walk from the fish market. You’ll meet the certified instructor, who will provide all of the necessary equipment (double kayak, spraydecks, paddles, and a bag to keep any belongings dry). After a quick safety briefing, you’ll launch into the water and go through paddling techniques. This excursion is suitable for beginners. Once you feel comfortable, you’ll begin paddling along the Odderøya archipelago!
The tour starts by passing by the Art Museum and the Kilden Concert Hall, two of Kirstiansand’s cultural sites which feature impressive architecture. Next, you’ll paddle by Fiskebrygga, a vibrant waterfront district and famous fish market known for its charming wooden buildings, bustling seafood restaurants, and picturesque harbour views. Then, you’ll pass the Kongebrygga, which is reserved for the King of Norway’s yacht. After admiring the beautiful scenery of the Odderøya archipelago, you’ll return to the starting point at the Guest Harbour in Kristiansand.
