Embark upon an incredible underground journey and explore the Øyfjellgrotta Cave from Mosjøen! All levels of experience are welcome on this unique 3-hour adventure in Norway.
The Øyfjellgrotta Cave is located in Norway's Telemark region and is a popular tourist attraction known for its unique rock formations and underground rivers. Formed over thousands of years through geological processes involving water erosion and the dissolution of limestone rock, visitors can admire intricate stalactites, stalagmites, and other impressive formations that have developed over time.
Your caving adventure begins after meeting your instructor at the departure point, where you will be provided with equipment which includes overalls, overcoats (for children), a helmet, and a headlamp. After a safety briefing, you'll depart for the short drive towards the caving location. Upon arrival, you and your group (a maximum of 30 participants) will enjoy an easy hike through a forest on your way to the Øyfjellgrotta Cave entrance. Then, the fun starts! You'll immerse yourself in the subterranean world in the company of your experienced instructor. At the cave's main hall, you will be treated to coffee, juice, and a snack before continuing onward. Once you've exited the cave, you'll make the descent through the forest before taking the shuttle back to the base.
