During the hot-air balloon flight over Bled, you will get a chance to see the whole process of setting up a hot-air balloon, hear about the history of this early way of flying and discover the capital of Slovenia from a very different point of view.

Experience the serene "floating" in the sky as you ride the wind, comfortably and safely settled in the balloon's basket. An expert pilot will take you on the flight of your life, with over 20 years and 2500 hours of flying experience, you will be in safe hands.

You will set out on jour flight with the rising sun and thus get a chance to admire the awakening town in the clear mist of the dawn. Floating above part of Triglav National Park, you will see the beautiful castle in the middle of the emerald-green Lake Bled and the Julian and Karavanke Alps.
Slovenia has a long history of hot-air ballooning since it started more than 250 years ago in Paris. With ballooning came different traditions: your flight will conclude with a Balloon Ceremony where you will toast with some sparkling wine and receive the Honorable titles of Barons or Baronesses of Bled. To commemorate this special day, you will receive a handwritten certificate of your new noble status.

Practical information

The whole activity takes about 3-4 hours.

Course of events

- Meet & Greet at the previously agreed-upon meeting point

- Briefing on the proceedings of the activity

- While you fill in the registration forms, the pilot will assess the wind's direction. Based on the information he gets from this measurements, he will decide whether the flight will proceed or not and where take-off will be.

- If the wind conditions are right, a 10-15 minute ride will take you to the take-off site.

- Preparation for take-off: inflating the balloon, heating the air inside the balloon with a burner

- Once the air in the balloon is warm enough, the basket and balloon will stand up. At this moment, the passengers can climb into the basket

- Once every passenger is in the basket, there is a safety briefing before take-off

- Take-off and flight over Bled and the surrounding area for about an hour. During the flight, the crew is following from the ground

- Landing and pick-up from the basket

-The crew will put away of the balloon, passengers are welcome to help in this process

- Short history of how ballooning started more than 250 years ago in Paris

- Balloon Ceremony according to local traditions

- At the end of the Balloon ceremony, passengers will be taken back to the meeting point/their hotel.

Activity requirements

- Passengers must be able to climb in the hot-air balloon basket.

- Passengers must be at least 110 cm tall.

- The meeting time is at sunrise and this changes throughout the season. Please contact your pilot upon booking to arrange the exact schedule of your flight.
