ProDive Seal Swims from Plettenberg Bay

Enjoy a 90-minute boat excursion out of Plettenberg Bay to meet some South African seals!

This activity will depart directly from the beach outside the Prodive Office in Plettenberg Bay. Together with your guide, you will head to Plettenberg's colony of Cape Sea Fur Seals. Along the way, you will come across some iconic South African birdlife, including the largest flock of Cape Cormorants and even some Cape Gannets!

You will know you have arrived at your final destination as the Fur Seals come to greet you right by the boat. These friendly colonies can't wait for you to join them in the water for a splash. Equip yourself with the snorkel gear provided by the guide, including a mask, tuba, fins, and wetsuit, and hop into the cold South African sea, ready to play with these funny marine mammals. The seals of Plettenberg Bay love interacting with us humans, and may even try to imitate you as you swim beside them!

If you do not wish to go into the water, this activity offers the choice to stay aboard the boat and watch the seals from above the surface. We recommend bringing a sun hat and some sunscreen as it can get quite hot on the water outside Cape Town!
