Somosierra is a small town in the Madrid Community, just an hour drive from downtown Madrid. There, you'll find one of the best canyons in Spain to experience an introduction into canyoning. The Duraton canyon in Somosierra is an incredibly fun canyon perfect for adventurers looking to experience canyoning for the very first time.

Guided by Yurok Adventures, you'll have, without a doubt, an amazing outing in which you'll even abseil down a stunning waterfall!

After meeting your guide in Puerto de Somosierra early in the morning, you'll gear up with all necessary canyoning equipment including neoprene wetsuit and a helmet. There, you'll also will be explained how your first canyoning experience will happen and all safety measures in order for you to stay safe.

Then, you'll head on by foot towards the entrance to the canyon. Once you've reached its entrance, you'll get ready to make your way down this amazing canyon by any means necessary. In canyoning, you'll need to walk, jump, slide, swim and even abseil down waterfalls so you can make it to the end!

Yurok Adventures guide will show you the way, the Duraton canyon is simply amazing. There, the guide will help you abseil down a 30 m. high waterfall and a natural water slide of 9 m., the main courses of this awesome canyon!

The first part is a fairly horizontal with certain vertical areas and a jump of which the difficulty will depend on the flow of water. Then, once you've descended the 30 m. high waterfall, you'll go through another 35 m. abseil, a water slide and the final abseil that will put your will to the test!
