Initiation to Ski Touring from Björkliden

Keen skiers are invited to spend the day on skis discovering the untouched off-piste terrain of Northern Sweden with a local guide!

This ski touring day is perfect for those with a decent skiing level and who wish to discover ski touring safely with the guidance of a local instructor. Together, you will climb and then ski down the wilder slopes around Björkliden. Away from the crowds, this day out is sure to give you a unique view of the beautiful Arctic landscape.

Although previous off-piste experience is preferable for this activity, it assumes no previous ski touring experience. Before departing, the guide will introduce you to all the ski touring equipment, including the avalanche equipment, so you can build an understanding of the necessary precautions you need to take before venturing into the unknown.

Meet us at hotel Björkliden with all your skiing equipment, and we will depart together to the snow. The exact itinerary will be decided closer to the date, depending on the weather and conditions. Then, we will start breaking a sweat in the crisp Arctic air, making our way up peaks in our small group, gradually building up anticipation for the descent. Then it will be time to ski down untouched mountains, enjoying the stunning views over the Scandinavian North as we go.
