Come on a guided snowshoe hike in the Swedish backcountry outside Kalix - spot animal tracks, learn Arctic survival skills, and enjoy a fika by a warm fire!
On this 3-hour excursion, we will walk through the snow-covered forest landscape among pines and birches. Take in the wintry woodlands as your snowshoes crunch through the crisp snow. This part of the Swedish backcountry is so remote and peaceful, you will be sure to enjoy the escape from the busy city centre. Along the way, we will look for animal tracks, and learn all about the wildlife here in Sweden. If we are lucky we might even see the animals who made them. In addition, we will teach you some basic survival skills for life in the hard Arctic climate. Halfway through the journey we make up a fire and enjoy some Swedish Fika.
Meet us at Degerberget for at the start of the tour. This small cliff is situated just West from Kalix, and offers some great snowshoeing paths waiting for you to discover!
