Practical information
On this excursion, you'll depart from Reykjavík and embark on a quad bike tour to Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, the black sand beach Sólheimasandu, and the DC-3 plane wreck.
- Please arrive at the starting point in Reykjavík at least 20 minutes before the activity start time
-Meet the guide and board the bus
- Drive to the base at Mýrdalsjökull Glacier (approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes)
- Stop in Hvolsvöllur on the way
- Arrive at the activity base
- Receive the equipment (overalls, helmet, balaclava)
- Safety briefing and driving instructions
- The 2-hour quad bike adventure begins!
- Drive on Mýrdalsjökull Glacier to Sólheimasandur Beach
- Visit the DC-3 plane wreck
- Drive to Dyrhólaey
- Return to the base
- Return bus drive to Reykjavík (approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes)
- Stop at Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfall
- Arrive at the original starting point in Reykjavík
Quad drivers must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid car driver's license. Please bring the physical copy with you on the day of the activity.
Children or those without a licence will ride on the vehicle as a passenger.
For this tour, you can choose to share the quad between two participants, with one driver and one passenger and the chance to switch during the excursion, or drive as a single rider (mandatory for groups with odd numbers).
