Practical information

Course of events

- Pick-up in Reykjavík (may take up to 30 minutes)

- Journey to the car park reserved for diving and snorkelling providers in Silfra (approx. 50 minutes)

- Briefing on the activity and safety instructions

- Distribution of drysuits and equipment

- Launch for the scuba diving excursion in the Silfra fault (maximum depth of 18 metres)

- De-equipping, return of equipment, journey back to Reykjavík and end of the activity

Activity requirements

A minimum Open Water Diver level of scuba diving is required to partake in the activity, as well as a drysuit certification or 10 drysuit dives, at least 1 of which took place within the last 2 years.

Minimum weight: 99 lbs (45 kg) / Maximum weight: 264 lbs (120 kg)

Minimum height: 150 cm / Maximum height: 200 cm

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

You need to be able to carry heavy equipment 400 metres.

Preferably wear fleece or wool undergarments (no cotton).

Special terms

Pregnant people cannot participate in this activity.

Once your booking has been confirmed, please contact the instructor to plan the pick-up time and place for your activity.

It is not possible to take part in the activity wearing glasses: if you have a prescription mask, please bring it with you. If not, we advise you to wear contact lenses before joining the guide.

It is important that you can both understand and communicate in English in order to participate in the tour.
