Using unique boards made in Lapland, snow surfing combines two unique sports in one - offering you the chance to ride some of the world's most dramatic snowfields at the heart of Pyhä-Luosto National Park!

This activity takes place in Pyha on the outskirts of Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Reached from Rovaniemi by car (1h 45min), Pyha ski resort is considered one of the world's best freeriding destinations with seven distinctive freeriding areas.

Meet your guide at the activity base in Pyhäntie for this snow surfing excursion in Pyhä-Luosto National Park. The ultimate experience for backcountry nomads and snowboard freeriders, this tour is organised in partnership with Ilahu snowsurfs - a hybrid board without the bindings - handmade in Lapland. After a short safety briefing and kit demo, you'll hike through Finland's oldest pine forest to reach one of 7 freeriding areas - offering challenging terrain for even the most experienced off-pister. Accompanied by an experienced mountain guide and fellow rider, you'll spend the next 2h exploring the untouched powder snow fields and forest tracks Pyhä-Luosto National Park - mastering the basics of snowsurfing in some of the deepest snow you"ll ever see! The only way in and out of this immense arctic forest is on foot - so be prepared to work up a sweat on the approach - returning to the activity base for drinks and snacks with team.
Conditions
Operating during the winter season from December to March, this backcountry excursion is suitable for anyone of good physical fitness with some freeride experience.
