Hiking Expedition in the Footsteps of the Monks in Meteora

Day 1: You will join the morning hiking tour of Meteora, setting off from the foothills of Doupiani rock, right beneath the old ruins of Pantokrator monastery. From there you will walk among giant rocks, between the massive rock pillars of Meteora towards the northern side. You’ll have the chance to visit the monastery of Great Meteoron and you will learn all the stories behind each landmark.

The afternoon hike will take you on an adventurous exploration along Meteora's hermit caves, where the first anchorite of Meteora lived more than a thousand of years ago. You will climb the Aghio Pnevma (Holy Spirit) rock pillar by following the ancient, winding trail above Kastraki, while soaking in some breathtaking views of Meteora's rock formations and the surrounding valleys!

Day 2: Prepare for the ultimate trekking adventure of Great Saint, an awe-inspiring tour that will surely boost your adrenaline! The hike will take you to the tallest rocks of Meteora, 400 meters above the town of Kalampaka, via an ancient path that winds around the rock of Great Saint.

- Reasonable physical and mental health on behalf of all participants is required.

- This tour is not subject to favorable weather conditions, and we advise you to dress according to weather requirements.

- You are expected to respect the holiness of the spot, keep it clean and seek the right balance between tourism and spiritual activities as there are monks who pray throughout the day.

2-night accommodation in a hotel and breakfast are included in this expedition.
