Practical information
On this excursion, you'll depart from Vík í Mýrdal and embark on a buggy safari on Mýrdalsjökull Glacier. This option is for a buggy that seats 1-2 participants.
- Please arrive at the starting point in Vík 30 minutes before the activity start time
- Meet the guide and receive the equipment (overalls, helmet, and balaclava)
- Safety briefing and driving instructions
- The 2-hour buggy tour adventure begins!
- Drive on Mýrdalsjökull Glacier
- Drive to Sólheimasandur black sand beach
- Visit the DC3 plane wreck
- Drive to Dyrhólaey
- Return drive to the base camp in Vík
Buggy drivers must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid car driver's license. Please bring the physical copy with you on the day of the activity.
Children or those without a licence will ride in the vehicle as a passenger.
For this tour, you can choose to share the buggy between two participants, with one driver and one passenger and the chance to switch during the excursion, or drive as a single rider (mandatory for groups with odd numbers).
