Practical information
Your journey begins in the traditional Cretan village of Potamies where you will meet a local shepherd and his family. You will witness the cheese-making process and learn how flour is traditionally made. For those of you who wish to taste the shepherd's products, cheese, raki, and oil are all on offer.
From there, you will head to the stunning Aposelemis Dam and Sfendili, also known as the Cretan Atlantis. The journey continues with a thrilling ascent through the gorge of Embasa-Virgin Mary where you can collect local herbs and take in the stunning natural beauty of the area.
The tour then takes us to the famous Windmills of Lasithi Plateau, where you will learn about the history and cultural significance of these iconic structures. Next, you will visit the impressive Cave of Zeus before touring the plateau of Lasithi, meeting locals, and exploring small villages.
Your tour concludes with a visit to the traditional village of Krasi where you can enjoy authentic food baked in a wood oven at one of the best traditional taverns. Finally, you'll marvel at the ancient Platanus Tree, the largest perennial plane tree aged 2400 years, dominating the village square.
