Practical information
Learn to surf, or improve your skills, on the beautiful beaches of Madeira! Learn the right surfing techniques, stances, safety rules, and everything else you need to know on your way to becoming an independent surfer with the São Roque beach as your background.
- Arrival at the meeting point and introduction to your instructors
- Welcome at the Surf School and a short briefing about how the activity will be held.
- Distribution of the surf equipment, surfboard, and wetsuit
- First part of the lesson (around 30 minutes) is dedicated to :
- Getting to know your surfboard,
- Warmup
- Introduction to the surf techniques
- Learn how to transport your board across the whitewater,
- Laydown and paddle
- Surf base position
- Take-off
- Go surfing and apply what you've learned for about 1h30.
- Return to the surf school
- Return of the surfing equipment and end of activity
Knowing how to swim is compulsory for this activity.
The minimum height for this activity is 1,40m.
Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the activity.
The surfing location is weather-dependent, so the welcome and briefing might change to another beach, but you will be informed previously.

Transfers from Funchal, Caniço and Santa Cruz are 10€ per person - Funchal, Meeting point (pick-up/drop-of) in front of the CR7 Museum.
Caniço and Santa Cruz, to be informed after your reservation.
