Practical information
Difficulty: Beginner/intermediate. Class R-1 to R-3 rapids.
Total length: 9.5 km
Duration: 3-4 hours
1. Participants are welcomed and the guides are introduced (10 min).
2. Signing of the risk acceptance form (10 min).
3. Handing over of equipment (wetsuit, PFD and helmet) (20 min).
4. Transport to the boat launch (10 min)
5. Inflating of the boats (10 min)
6. Walk to the launch. Participants must transport their boat up a steep, uneven slope to the boat launch (10 min).
7. Safety speech. (10 min).
8. Start of the descent. (1 h)
9. Mid-course snack. (15 min).
10. Second part of descent and return to base camp. (1 h)
11. Participants change clothes and are given a drink while discussing the experience!
No previous white-water experience is required, but you will need to receive a minimum of training and a speech on safety measures (on site, on the day of the activity).
Minimum age/weight: 11 years old, 90lbs (40kg) and 76cm chest circumference.
Maximum size: 132 cm chest circumference.
Pregnant people are not allowed to take part.
A minimum number of 2 participants is required for this activity to take place.
You will be asked to accept and sign an Acknowledgement and Acceptance of Risk form in French or English (on site, on the day of the activity). For people under the age of 14, the form must be signed by the person with parental authority.
Each descent is offered in packraft or cataraft. Note that at high levels (spring or after heavy rain), the descent is made in cataraft only. If the river level is too low or too high, an alternative river will be used for the activity.
