Practical information
A 3-day in a row course comprising a total of 6 sessions of stalking observation of different species (depending on the season), each lasting 2 to 3 hours.
- Meeting with the nature guide not far from the Château de Chastellux (you can be picked up at Avallon station and driven to the meeting point if you do not have a car: in this case, please contact the guide in advance to make a request)
- Presentation of the 6 observation sessions of the course
- Departure for a first observation session at dusk (observation of a badger burrow in a forest)
- Meeting the following day for 3 observation sessions: one in the morning (e.g. Dippers and other Morvan river birds), one in the afternoon (Black Woodpeckers in a beech forest or a colony of European Bee-eaters) and one at dusk (observation of another badger burrow)
- Meeting the next day for the last 2 observation sessions: one in the morning (e.g. Kingfisher and other pond birds) and one at dusk (on the edge of a forest/grassland, observation of roe deer, wild boar, foxes, etc., depending on your luck)
- Debriefing and end of the activity
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.
A minimum number of 2 participants is required to run this activity.
Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity.
This activity is not accessible to people with disabilities.
Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.
Since wildlife is unpredictable, their presence is never guaranteed.
The meeting time for this activity is given as an indication: once your booking has been confirmed, the guide will send you a detailed programme of the activity with the times of the sessions.
