Practical information
Embark on a trip to discover Pacific humpback whales and other cetaceans with Tãtahi Tours! If the conditions are right, you'll have the chance to go on a snorkelling trip.
- Meet at the Tãtahi Tours water sports centre at 8 a.m. or 1 p.m.
- Distribution of snorkelling equipment and lifejackets (in the event of a launch)
- Briefing on safety on board, marine mammals, approaching whales and, above all, the rules to follow in the water to ensure the greatest possible respect for the animals.
- Leaving Phaëton Bay to follow the spectacular scenery along the west coast of the peninsula in search of whales.
- Whale watching and explanations about this incredible marine mammal as soon as they are spotted
- Launch if conditions are right
- Return to the centre around 12 noon or 5 p.m.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
A minimum of 4 participants is required for the activity to take place.
Activities not accessible to people with disabilities or pregnant people.
Animals are not allowed to take part in this activity.
Whales are wild and unpredictable mammals, so there's no guarantee that you'll see them every time you go out.
The instructors and guides have the right to restrict certain people to the water, depending on their physical condition, the weather conditions or the state of the sea.
