Practical information
An introductory 9-hour course to learn the basics of kitesurfing, conducted over 3 days with a 3-hour session per day.
- Start at the meeting point in Theologos Beach
Day 1 (3-hour session)
- Learn the basic knowledge regarding wind, shore, and weather conditions
- Learn about the assembly and dismantling of kites, bars and leashes
- Learn how to launch and land the kite
- Learn about safety when kitesurfing, both onshore and offshore
Day 2 (3-hour session)
- Launch in the water and learn about kite control
- Learn about bodydragging on different routes and courses
- Learn the right-of-way rules on the water
- Learn about self-rescue methods
Day 3 (3-hour session)
- Learn the correct stand and orientation of the body on the board
- Learn how to push the board when planning
- Learn how to start from the water - the first meters on the kiteboard
- Learn all the tips & tricks for independent practising
After you’ve taken the kitesurf basics course, you have the opportunity to get the VDWS kitesurf certificate from the Kiel/Germany kitesurf school. With this certificate, you'll able to rent kitesurf material all over the world. Furthermore, in the event of an accident or damage claim, you can officially prove that you’ve got profound kitesurfing knowledge and training.
