Practical information
A 40-minute snowshoe hike from Le Monêtier-les-Bains to a trapper's village where you will enjoy an aperitif around a campfire, followed by a local cheese fondue in an igloo (depending on snow conditions) or a teepee.
- Meeting with the guide at the entrance to the hamlet of Le Casset (car park near the Maison du Parc)
- Snowshoes equipment
- Briefing on the activity and safety instructions
- Departure at dusk for a 40-minute snowshoe walk to the trapper's village
- Aperitif around the campfire (mulled wine or syrup)
- Dinner in an igloo (depending on snow conditions) or a teepee with local cheese fondue and dessert on the menu
- 15-minute walk back to the meeting point
- Return of snowshoes and end of the activity around 9 p.m.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
A minimum of 5 participants is required for the activity to run this activity.
Dogs on a lead are welcome to join this activity.
Please note: because of the increasingly high temperatures in winter, the igloo is rarely available. So most evenings are spent in a cosy Finnish teepee heated by a wood-burning stove.
