Practical information
The objective of this 5-day course is to improve at your own pace and to gain autonomy. Both personalized and fun, the lessons are also absolutely safe. In addition to learning the basic techniques, you will be taught how to analyze the ocean with all its subtleties and dangers. The first waves you will ride and tyhe first thrills you will feel while standing up on the board will remain an unforgettable memory!
All the instructors are very attentive to each and every pupil, staying with them in the water to follow their improvements, showing them how to do the right moves, providing them with an individual or a group coaching both on the sand and in the water. The groups of trainees are limited to 12 people maximum so that the lessons are given in the best possible conditions.
Each lesson lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes in total including the 1.5 hour you will be spending in the water.
You will get a certification from the French Surfing School (École Française de Surf) at the end of the course.
- Friendly greeting at the school located on the beach, right in front of the surfing spot
- Introducing the team (Manon Mathieu, Philippe) and quick brief on the session's program and on the sea conditions of the day
- After gearing up with a suit fitted to your morphology, the trainee will take their board. The instructor chooses the board depening on each participant's level and morphology.
- The trainees walk to the surfing area with the instructor
- On the seashore, the group analyzes the ocean: the tide, the size of the waves, the currents, the number of surfers on site... Then, short brief on the safety rules.
- Warm-up with a bodysurf session near the seashore (10 minutes of bodysurfing) to assess the level of the trainees in the sea and to spend a maximum amount of time in the water, among the waves
- Back to the beach. Theory exercices adapted to the level and expectations of each participant (knowing how to handle the equipment, how to move with your board, how to position yourself, how to stand back up on your board...)
- Depending on the pupil's level and on the sea conditions, the exercices can range from surfing foam by the beach to riding unbroken waves in the sea.
- End of the session, feedback and definition of the future objectives and of the means to achieve them.
- Back to the center, debriefing with the instructors about your day in a very friendly atmosphere
After taking a shower at the center, you will relax and njoy the amazing location of the school.
The hours of the lessons are determined depending on the tides for optimum safety and improvement.
In case of bad weather, the sessions will be re-scheduled if possible. During low season, possibility to transfer the activity on a beach offering appropriate weather conditions.
