Discover the Mont Catherine via ferrata, in winter, in the heart of the Laurentians, between Montreal and Mont-Tremblant!
Tyroparc invites you to discover an incredible activity combining hiking, climbing, ice-climbing and mountaineering, to experience incredible sensations during the Quebec winter in the Laurentians. Via Ferrata is a hike up a rock face equipped with metal holds and a steel cable to facilitate progress and improve safety. Here, you will be attached to a continuous lifeline, using a special karabiner that doesn't need to be detached between different sections of the cable!
Your adventure on the Mont Catherine winter via ferrata begins with a 450-metre walk to the foot of the cliff. Before you start your ascent, the certified guides who will be accompanying you will give you a few instructions to ensure that your via ferrata journey in the Laurentians takes place in the best possible conditions. You will then attach yourself to the continuous lifeline, the starting point of your experience, which will take you up to 60 metres high - the equivalent of a 20-storey building!
Along the way, you will move around on rungs and handholds, crossing wooden beams and different types of bridges, to discover incredible views of the Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts region. From the summit of Mont Catherine, you will be able to contemplate the superb winter landscapes of the Laurentians and the region before descending 700 metres to the host chalet, with complete confidence even in snowy conditions thanks to the crampons provided by the team.
For even more thrills, you can also choose the "Winter Discovery" option, which lets you explore the via ferrata, before descending via 2 mega zip lines 650 and 900 metres above the Laurentians!
During the rest of your stay, you can also visit and enjoy the new Tyroparc ski resort at Mont Catherine. The Tyroparc team is already looking forward to welcoming you to the Laurentians for a unique experience on the Mont Catherine via ferrata!
