Iguana Surf's guaranteed teaching method will be put to practice during your group surf lessons. These sessions are perfect for 1st-time surfers that want to be part of a group with other beginners! You don't have to worry about anything, you'll share the experience with people of the same level.

The surfing school focuses on safety which is why they maintain a low student to instructor ratio, a maximum of 4 students per instructor. This way each student has plenty of personal attention. Your Tamarindo group surf lesson will start with a 20-minute brief on the beach focusing on safety, etiquette in the water and the basics of surfing.

Then, you'll learn the basics of how to paddle correctly, pop up, positioning on the board, correct stance, and reading the waves, the instructor will have you practice on your boards on the beach just to get the overall feel.

Once you've mastered these techniques, its time to get wet. Your instructor will be with you the entire time offering pointers and tips to get you riding your first wave before you know it!
